JamFactory Clay Colouring and Hand-forming Workshop

JamFactory Clay Colouring and Hand-forming Workshop
As part of the current touring show on exhibition at the ANU School of Art & Design Gallery, JamFactory ICON, Angela Valamanesh: About being here exhibition, JamFactory is offering a Clay Colouring and Hand-forming Workshop.

Angela Valamanesh worked with JamFactory’s Ceramic Studio to produce a set of three artworks. Three JamFactory Ceramics Studio Associates worked on one piece each, developing an understanding of Angela’s techniques to enable them to recreate the pieces under her guidance.

Led by a Xanthe Murphy, this clay-colouring and hand forming workshop teaches techniques employed by Angela Valamanesh such as dying clay with stains and oxides and a demonstration of the ‘scratch-back’ technique utilised in many of her objects. Participants create a unique piece that is dyed and formed by hand.

Xanthe Murphy is an emerging ceramic and lighting designer, currently working out of the esteemed Jamfactory ceramics studio. Her multidisciplinary training in ceramics, textiles and object design has given her a uniquely diverse practice.

Only 10 spots available.
