Rod Bamford is an artist and educator working at the intersections of art, craft and design, with a ceramics focus. Since studying at the National Art School, his practice has developed through numerous exhibitions, design and academic projects, his work widely represented in major collections. In 2006 he joined UNSW Art & Design to Head the COFA Ceramics studio and establish courses in Future Making. In 2017 Rod held a 12 month post Heading the Ceramics and Glass Department at the Royal College of Art in London.
Rod’s talk will draw upon a diverse range of his projects to highlight the ‘digital pivot’ in contemporary making, illustrating ways that it impacts individuals and community, from both technical and ethical perspectives.
