Congratulations to members of the design team for their Epic Grant for an Augmented Reality (AR) project. Members of the design team are Dr Baden Pailthorpe (Lecturer, School of Art & Design), Dr Anna Madeleine Raupach (Lecturer, School of Art & Design), Associate Professor Mitchell Whitelaw (Associate Professor in Design, School of Art & Design), Dr Geoff Hinchcliffe (Associate Dean, Education, College of Arts & Social Sciences)

The project aims to develop site specific Augmented Reality applications for natural settings around Canberra with Unreal Engine. Potential applications include information overlay for ACT Parks visitors, digital public artworks using mobile AR, Magic Leap and other AR platforms.

Epic Games has committed $100 million to support game developers, enterprise professionals, media and entertainment creators, students, educators, and tool developers doing amazing things with Unreal Engine or enhancing open-source capabilities for the 3D graphics community.
