The National Opera has announced ANU School of Music teacher Sonia Anfiloff as its new Artistic Director. After almost a decade of performing in Vienna, Sonia returns to Canberra with a wealth of international experience, a strong background in music education, and a deep connection to the local arts community.

Sonia, who is part of the Classical Voice faculty at ANU, is also a proud alumna of the School. In addition to her work at ANU, she has made a significant impact as Head of Choirs at Canberra Girls Grammar School, shaping the next generation of musicians.

This appointment is a testament to Sonia’s dedication to the arts and the exceptional community at the ANU School of Music.
