The School of Art & Design congratulates our alumna, Halie Rubenis who was awarded the National Contemporary Jewellery Award 2020 for her work White Bread.
The Award, presented by Griffith Regional Art Gallery, attracts Australia’s leading contemporary object artists, expanding the boundaries of the art of human adornment. The winning piece in each Award is acquired to develop the National Contemporary Jewellery Collection that was established in 1988.
The exhibition of the finalists work was presented at Griffith Regional Art Gallery from the 27 November - 18 December 2020. In 2020, the judges Dr. Zoë Veness and Dr. Rohan Nicol selected the winning entry from a stunning display of finalists from across Australia.
In 2006, Halie graduated from the ANU School of Art & Design with a Bachelor of Visual Arts Honours (First Class) majoring in Jewellery and Object (then known as Gold and Silversmithing).
