Sean Dockray's essay published in Let's Go Outside: Art in Public

Dr Sean Dockray's essay 'Making Publics' was published in Let’s Go Outside: Art in Public (edited by Charlotte Day, Callum Morton, and Amy Spiers), which is available in March 2022. With contributions from twenty-five leading Australian and international artists, writers and curators, the reader that opens up new critical possibilities across the entire field of public art practice. Dockray, who is the convenor of the Art, Politics, and Social Engagement research hub at the ANU School of Art & Design, uses the essay to consider the role and usefulness of the term 'public' in the context of intensified digital cultural programming during widespread COVID lockdowns.
