2012 H.C. Coombs Creative Arts Fellow

Voice ensemble, The Song Company, will come to ANU to work with staff and students as part of the 2012 HC Coombs Creative Arts Fellowship.

The six-voice ensemble, led by renowned musician Roland Peelman, covers music from the 10th century to the present day.

The Fellowship will see The Song Company come to ANU for two residency periods at the School of Music. The first will take place in May during the Canberra International Music Festival. The School’s newly-formed Chamber Choir will perform with The Song Company as part of ‘The Qualities of Valour’ concert at the Australian War Memorial. During a second residency in October, The Song Company will work with staff and students to deliver masterclasses and performances.

Mr Peelman will also visit the University on a number of other occasions to work with vocal students as they prepare for the School’s 2012 opera production, Benjamin Britten’s Albert Herring, which will be presented in collaboration with The Street Theatre in September.
