Academic publishing (Online)

Join us for a practical workshop on the essentials of academic publishing for health consumers, medical, and healthcare students or anyone interested in academic publishing in the health field!

Explore publication and journal types and understand the concept of impact factors. Discover the different publication types, including original articles, systematic reviews, and commentaries. Learn how to become an author and understand the authorship guidelines and author contribution statements. Navigate the publishing process, including formatting, submission, affiliation details, and conflicts of interest. Understand the options for publishing agreements, including open access and fee for access. Finally, learn about the post-acceptance process, including proofs, digital object identifiers, and citations, and learn how to avoid predatory journals.

This workshop is an essential resource for anyone interested.

This workshop series is offered as part of Dr Mary Dahm’s Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA).
