Centre for Digital Humanities Research staff and students.
In 2019 Dr Katrina Grant and her students in one of the Centre for Digital Humanities Research Digital Humanities project courses partnered with the National Museum of Australia. Students in Dr Grant’s course were asked to develop pitches of digital resources that the museum could use to engage school students around Australia with the study of Australian history and social sciences. The NMA’s ‘Defining Moments in Australian History’ series provided the inspiration for ideas that ranged from podcasts to games, animated films, mobile apps and 3D models. After pitching these to staff at the museum students were given the nod to develop these resources over the course of the semester. The collaboration between the two institutions resulted in five student projects being selected for the museums’ Australia’s Defining Moments Digital Classroom, a dedicated Australian Curriculum Humanities and Social Sciences resource. More about this collaboration and the successful projects can be read about in the latest edition of ANU reporter here.
