RSHA-HRC Internal Fellow for Semester 2, 2023

We’re delighted to announce that the successful recipient of the RSHA-HRC Internal Fellowship for semester 2 is Associate Professor of French Studies at the School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics, Dr Leslie Barnes.

Leslie will use the time to complete her monograph, SexScenes: Imperialism, Ambivalence, and Sex Work in Southeast Asia. This and her other projects explore the role of the Cambodian film industry, before and after the genocide in contemporary world cinema and its relevance to our collective understanding of how communities work to represent and repair trauma. We adore our internal fellows, so very much looking forward to learning more about Leslie’s research throughout the semester.
