Hatched: National Graduate Show 2023 presents a dynamic selection of emerging artists recently graduated from art schools across Australia. Nominated by their teachers and selected by a panel of artists and curators, Hatched represents the diverse and compelling practices of the next generation of artistic voices. As a cornerstone of PICA’s program and the only national graduate exhibition in the country, over its three decades of history Hatched has presented the work of Australia’s leading contemporary artists, providing a vital platform for early-career artists.

Congratulations to Matthew Freeman (Bachelor of Visual Arts Honours) and Nathan Nhan (Bachelor of Visual Arts Honours), recent graduates of the ANU School of Art & Design, selected to exhibit in this year’s Hatched.

Hatched is made possible by the generosity of PICA’s Art1000 Donors, Major Exhibition Partner the Minderoo Foundation and Grace Fine Art. The Schenberg Awards are made possible by funds bequeathed to The University of Western Australia by Dr Harold Schenberg.

Join us for our Djeran outdoor celebration on Friday 12 May, 6:30pm.
