Introducing the University’s new Maple Glass 3D Printer, a revolutionary device that is changing the game for 3D printing and is now permanently stationed in the School of Art & Design Glass workshop.

Dr Jeffrey Sarmiento, Senior Lecturer at the School of Art & Design, spoke at the official launch last week, allowing attendees to experience the beauty and precision of 3D printing glass using this state-of-the-art technology.

The Australian-made Maple Glass 3D Printer can use recycled waste glass to print a 3D glass object from a digitally generated file. The Printer will be used in a collaborative research, teaching and outreach effort with Engineering and the ANU Makerspace using the technology to develop creative solutions to practical problems in glass.
